Salt air country
Why batteries die faster in Coogee
Salt air is the reason. Airborne salt settles on terminals and works into case seals, and the corrosion it starts raises resistance at exactly the point where the battery has to deliver a few hundred amps. The same battery that runs five years inland can be down on cranking amps in three within a few streets of the water.
Anything parked outside near the coast here shows it, and boats show it first.
The fix is not a bigger battery, it's a sealed one. We steer Coogee customers to AGM for vehicles that live outdoors, dual-purpose or proper deep-cycle for boats, and we clean and grease terminals as part of the fit rather than charging for it separately.

Battery replacement in Coogee
Coogee is a boating suburb first and a housing one second. Seven ramps sit along this stretch of Cockburn Road, with Woodman Point and Coogee Beach holiday parks bringing caravans and trailer boats through all summer. Most of what we replace here has been near salt water its whole life.
That splits the work three ways: cranking batteries for trailer boats, deep-cycle for anything running a sounder, lights or a fridge, and caravan house batteries that have usually been slowly cooked by an old charger. We'll test what you've got and tell you honestly whether it's recoverable. For cars parked near the water we push sealed AGM — flooded batteries don't last down here.

Coogee FAQ
Common Coogee questions
Do you deliver batteries to Coogee?
Yes. Coogee is 31.3km from our Maddington warehouse — about 35 minutes via Albany Highway and Roe Highway. There's a small delivery fee outside our three 5km free zones (Canning Vale, Maddington and Fremantle), or you can collect from the counter and pay the straight warehouse price. Call 08 9451 4048 for the exact figure.
Can you replace a boat battery at the Coogee ramps?
Yes — we fit marine batteries on the trailer or at the pen. Coogee has 7 public boat ramps on our run, and cranking, deep-cycle and dual-purpose marine stock sits on the shelf at Maddington. Salt air is hard on terminals, so we'll usually steer you to a sealed AGM. Ring 08 9451 4048 with the boat and motor and we'll match it.
Do you do caravan and camper batteries in Coogee?
Yes — deep-cycle house batteries, dual-purpose, and the crank battery on the tow vehicle. There's caravan traffic through Coogee, and the most common job is a house battery that's been slowly cooked by an old charger. We'll test what you've got, tell you whether it's recoverable, and size the replacement to your actual draw. 08 9451 4048.
How much is a car battery in Coogee?
It depends on the spec — a small sedan and a European AGM are a long way apart. Because we buy factory-direct there's no retail markup in the middle. Call 08 9451 4048 with your rego and you'll get a fixed number, not a range.
How do I get to your warehouse from Coogee?
Unit 11/95-97 Kelvin Road, Maddington, WA 6109 — about 35 minutes from Coogee, via Albany Highway and Roe Highway, about 31.3km. Free customer parking on site. Walk in any time we're open, get the battery and the alternator tested free, and have it fitted while you wait.
Are you open after hours if I'm stuck in Coogee?
Open 24/7 — every day of the year — call 08 9451 4048 day or night. If you're stranded in Coogee we'll give you a straight ETA rather than a "sometime today", and we'll come to the car.
Do you cover all of the City of Cockburn?
Yes. Coogee is one of the City of Cockburn suburbs we run to, and we deliver across the whole council area — residential, trade and fleet. If you're on the boundary and not sure, call 08 9451 4048 with the street and we'll tell you straight away whether you're inside a free-delivery zone.
