Salt air country
Why batteries die faster in Doubleview
Salt air is the reason. Airborne salt settles on terminals and works into case seals, and the corrosion it starts raises resistance at exactly the point where the battery has to deliver a few hundred amps. The same battery that runs five years inland can be down on cranking amps in three within a few streets of the water.
Anything parked outside near the coast here shows it, and boats show it first.
The fix is not a bigger battery, it's a sealed one. We steer Doubleview customers to AGM for vehicles that live outdoors, dual-purpose or proper deep-cycle for boats, and we clean and grease terminals as part of the fit rather than charging for it separately.

Battery replacement in Doubleview
Doubleview runs along Scarborough Beach Road close enough to the coast that the sea breeze carries salt over it every afternoon. People notice it on the fences and the flyscreens; it happens to battery terminals too, and it is the quiet reason batteries here fall short of the years on the label.
Salt works into terminals and case seals and raises resistance exactly where the battery has to deliver a few hundred amps. So we favour sealed AGM for anything that lives in a driveway rather than a garage, and clean and grease the terminals as part of the fit. Short local runs between the two schools and the beach do the rest.

Doubleview FAQ
Common Doubleview questions
Do you deliver batteries to Doubleview?
Yes. Doubleview is 33.8km from our Maddington warehouse — about 35 minutes via Tonkin Highway. There's a small delivery fee outside our three 5km free zones (Canning Vale, Maddington and Fremantle), or you can collect from the counter and pay the straight warehouse price. Call 08 9451 4048 for the exact figure.
How much is a car battery in Doubleview?
It depends on the spec — a small sedan and a European AGM are a long way apart. Because we buy factory-direct there's no retail markup in the middle. Call 08 9451 4048 with your rego and you'll get a fixed number, not a range.
How do I get to your warehouse from Doubleview?
Unit 11/95-97 Kelvin Road, Maddington, WA 6109 — about 35 minutes from Doubleview, straight down Tonkin Highway, about 33.8km. Free customer parking on site. Walk in any time we're open, get the battery and the alternator tested free, and have it fitted while you wait.
Are you open after hours if I'm stuck in Doubleview?
Open 24/7 — every day of the year — call 08 9451 4048 day or night. If you're stranded in Doubleview we'll give you a straight ETA rather than a "sometime today", and we'll come to the car.
Do you cover all of the City of Stirling?
Yes. Doubleview is one of the City of Stirling suburbs we run to, and we deliver across the whole council area — residential, trade and fleet. If you're on the boundary and not sure, call 08 9451 4048 with the street and we'll tell you straight away whether you're inside a free-delivery zone.
What happens to my old battery?
We take it away and recycle it, free, whether we delivered to Doubleview or you walked into the warehouse. Lead-acid is close to fully recyclable and it should never go in a bin — if you've got an old one sitting in the shed, bring it in with you and we'll take that too.
